It’s almost impossible to put words to our fear.
In fact, Simon Sinek, author of “Start with Why” calls it a biological impossibility.
But, I did it today.
This week, I had the privilege of connecting with a dazzling lady. She had the letters "Dr." in front of her name and an equally impressive smile to match.
We had scheduled a "get to know you" meeting over video chat and I was excited. I also wanted to sound like I knew what I was talking about. She came at me humble and unassuming, so naturally, I did what my fragile ego likes to do:
It's really no secret: I'm a writer who does not read.
It's not that I don't looooove books. I do! In fact, I hoard them and want to be surrounded by them.
You know that scene in Disney's Beauty & the Beast and Belle finally lays eyes on the grand circular floor-to-ceiling library in the Beast's lair?
I want that. That exact library filled with books. Just the thought makes me want to bring out the china and break into song.
But, here's my ish:
Hello friends! It's been a while.
Trust me... I've missed you!
I've been spending some time re-conceptualizing www.priyadevalia.com and as my milestone birthday looms August 2015, I think it's time to make some bold tracks into new territory.
I am excited to tell you that I've been soul-searching and digging myself out of a trying season only to come up with the following conclusion:
I've got to serve you out of my own need.
This is echoed by this pic I saw on Pinterest...
I found this tender wisdom hit close to home.
In my case, sometimes the healing is in the creating.
I spent some time putting together some of my thoughts about finding and honing in on your purpose.
I'd like to see more people in the same position as I am unravel the confusion and get on the right path for their life.
Keep your eyes peeled on this space and on www.priyadevalia.com in general.
Change is brewing! And, it smells as fresh as a newly dripped pot of morning java.
Just breathe it in.
Yup, that's HOPE you're smelling.
When this webinar comes out, my prayer is that everyone who needs to hear it, hears it and that after listening they will feel hopeful and centred in the midst of their own ache.

You Are Valuable!
Do you ever feel like you’re being tossed to and fro in the sea of self-doubt?
Or, do you ever feel lost or overwhelmed when it comes to making important and critical life decisions?
If I had a default button – it would be self-doubt.
Plagued by self-doubt, I’ve wandered aimlessly through many seasons of life decision-less, willingly giving my power away to parents, friends, boyfriends and institutions who I felt knew the answers better than I did.
This often only ended in one thing: disaster.
Doing anything requires knowing where you fall on the “Getting Things Done” spectrum.
We all function a certain way when we are trying to accomplish something – whether individually, as group or as an organization.
This includes such activities from baking cookies to building an empire.
Here are the Double-D’s of getting anything done with breathtaking pizzazz and create a dream team that will have you spinning everything you touch into gold.
My dear overachievers and A-type-get-er-done personalities…
How I envy you!
I am your faithful opposite.
While you sit in the driver’s seat and rev the supersonic engine of your dynamic lives…I’m in the back seat staring at cloud formations as they whiz past, taking in the blurred scenic views, catching a snooze here and there and drawing hearts in the mist I breathed onto the window…
This sounds obvious. But, a lot of people don’t even realize that they are Creatives.
They sort of wander about life leaking out ideas and hemorrhaging some of their best inspirations – entrepreneurs and marketing mavens alike!
Don’t be one of them.
Consider this your Creative ER or Intervention.
I hate to get critical so close to Christmas but, Carrie Underwood’s underwhelming performance in her live version of “The Sound of Music” aside…
I live in the land of skidoos, maple syrup, once-upon-a-time igloos and the current Nobel Laureate for Literature, the Grande Dame of the short story Alice Munro.
This unequivocally means I am Canadian. Most of you already know this.
In Toronto, where I reside, winters are brutal and the summers are sweltering. We are a city of extremes but, living through 23 years of these dueling seasons has not made me anymore prepared for this winter.
